Birmingham Opera Company

Birmingham Opera Company is not what you expect from opera. It’s a different way of making opera. Performed in English, the productions are specifically conceived to involve members of the community at every level, including performing alongside world class singers and musicians. Staging its productions away from conventional opera houses and theatres, the company offers opera at an affordable price without compromising quality.

City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO)

As the resident orchestra of Symphony Hall, Birmingham, the CBSO performs over 80 concerts each year in one of the world’s finest concert halls. Join CBSO musicians ‘at home’ in CBSO Centre, for relaxed and friendly concerts packed with the chamber music they’re passionate about sharing, from Haydn and Beethoven to Baroque gems and modern masters. The CBSO plays the broadest possible range of music to the widest possible audience including the symphonic and contemporary classical repertoire, but also lighter music – the popular Friday Night series features everything from film themes to musical hits - together with matinée, schools and family concerts which all help ensure that the CBSO really does offer something for everyone.

Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust

There are ten award-winning museums spread along the valley beside the wild River Severn - still spanned by the world's first Iron Bridge. The museum manages 35 historic sites within the World Heritage Site of the Ironbridge Gorge, ten of which are museums. As well as ten museums, the sites also include a research library, a tourist information centre, two youth hostels, archaeological sites, historic woodlands, housing, two chapels, and two Quaker burial grounds.
