This exhibition marks the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare (1564-1616). Shakespeare is famous for his skilful dramatization of human emotions and his plays and poems have proved to be a vital source of inspiration to artists.

These 24 images published during the previous two centuries from various illustrated editions of the works of Shakespeare are from the Cadbury Research Library collections.
