Domestic violence is a global epidemic and perceptions of the gravity and nature of it are often influenced by gender – both the gender of the perpetrator and the victim.

In this seminar, research will be presented on differences in UAE students’ judgments of seriousness and blame when witnessing domestic violence, depending on the type of abuse and the gender dyad. Social, cultural, and judicial implications will be discussed.
