If you are developing a commercially viable innovation based on your research, then at some point in the development you will be involved in discussions around whether it is best to start up a spin out company or license the technology . In this session we will hear from Dr Gary Thorpe who was involved in pioneering work on the discovery, development and transfer of enhanced chemiluminescent technology (ECL), which resulted in two Queen's Awards for Technological Achievement and Enterprise (1990 & 2004) and awards from the British Technology Group and the Department of Trade and Industry. This innovation was exploited commercially through the licensing route and Gary will be able to tell us of his experiences and the pros and cons of licensing an idea.

Cost: Free of charge
Please register you interest for this event by contacting Debbie White on the details above.
