A relaxed bi-monthly session for parents and carers to explore fascinating research while little ones play, feed, or snooze.

Each session welcomes guest researchers to share insights on topics from child development to science, health, and society.

The Exchange offers a welcoming, accessible space with excellent baby-changing facilities. Come as you are - curious minds (and wriggly babies) encouraged!

Learning to imagine

Prof. Sarah Beck, Professor of Cognitive Development
Even toddlers can escape reality! Discover how babies start to pretend, play, and imagine — and why it's a crucial part of learning and development.

Raising children who understand others

Dr Rory Devine, Associate Professor in Developmental Psychology and Clinical Psychologist
Find out how children learn to understand thoughts, feelings and perspectives — and how we can help them grow into caring, thoughtful people.

This event is organised in partnership with Birmingham BabyLab at the School of Psychology at Unversity of Birmingham, the Centre for Developmental Science, and the Centre for Human Brain Health.
