Accessibility

The Barber Fine Art Library ensures it is accessible for everyone and accommodates individual needs. Please note however the library is located within the Barber Institute.  The main entrance to the Barber is accessed by a flight of 13 shallow steps with a central hand rail. Level access is available. If you require level access by calling the Barber Reception +44 (0) 121 414 7333 or emailing reception@barber.org.uk before your visit.

Support

Our accessibility support includes:

  • Book fetching
  • Assistive software on all PCs
  • Accessible toilet: an all-gender accessible toilet is available on the first-floor gallery level. Please speak to a member of the Barber Institute's Visitor Services team for access.
  • Quiet / silent study area
  • Wheelchair Access (limited)
  • It may be possible to transfer items from the Art Library to be consulted in other Library Services sites if required.

  • Magnifying glass
  • Magnifying sheet
  • Coloured overlays
