Opening hours
Temporary closure from 15 December 2025
In order to accommodate the ongoing Barber transformation project, the Barber Fine Art Library reading rooms will temporarily close from Monday 15 December 2025. This closure is due to the wider building works taking place in the Barber Institute throughout 2026. As such, it is not possible to say when the library will reopen.
How to get hold of our books
During the temporary closed period, library staff will offer a book fetching service, and library users are welcome to consult Barber Fine Art Library materials at the Cadbury Research Library between 10:00-13:00 and 13.30-17:00 Monday to Friday.
University of Birmingham students and staff
Whenever possible please help us by requesting books in advance. To request books and for further information about our book fetching service, please contact the Barber Fine Art Library team via our email service.
External visitors
