Group visits

The Cadbury Research Library welcomes groups from beyond the University who wish to engage with our collections. We also embrace opportunities to visit interested groups and present details of our work and collections.

Visits to the Cadbury Research Library

Linked to the University's widening participation strategy, the Cadbury Research Library offers a variety of opportunities for groups to engage with our collections and to inspire private research.

Seminar Room

Our Seminar Room can comfortably hold a group of up to ten people, plus a tutor, for sessions working with rare books, archive and manuscript collections with our staff. If your group is larger than ten, we have capacity to use the searchroom outside core opening hours.

Discussing your requirements

To discuss your requirements with us please telephone +44 (0) 121 414 5839 (internal 45839) or email special-collections@contacts.bham.ac.uk. When considering your planning please be aware that it can take time to develop an effective group session using rare books, archives and manuscripts.

Visits by our staff to your location

We also offer visits by a member of our staff to give talks to groups within the Birmingham area subject to availability.

We suggest a donation of £30 per talk for such events, plus payment of travel expenses from the University of Birmingham to the location. To discuss your requirements with us please email special-collections@contacts.bham.ac.uk. Please allow sufficient notice to discuss with us whether we can meet your requirement, when planning your programme.
