Stratford-upon-Avon: Guided Tour

stratford-1250x300Stratford-upon-Avon, is a medieval market town in England’s West Midlands, steeped in history with many half-timbered buildings from medieval times. The 16th-century birthplace of William Shakespeare, possibly the most famous writer in the English language, Shakespeare is known for his sonnets and plays such as 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'Hamlet'. The Royal Shakespeare Company performs his plays in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and adjacent Swan Theatre on the banks of the River Avon. Our professional guide will tell us all about the man himself and the landscape that inspired him and we’ll also visit the fine timber-framed town house in which he was born.   Stratford is also a great place for unusual independent shops for that special souvenir or gift.

Meet at the coach at Shackleton Reception at 10:00 and return around 17:00.
