Biography:
Belina joined the Instituto de Investigação em Ciências da Vida e Saúde (ICVS) (Life and Health Sciences Research Institute), in September 2016 as a PhD student under the scope of the PANINI project. Working with the elderly has been one of her passions since the completion of her Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition. This interest was only strengthened through her posts at Continuing Care Centres where she worked as a clinical dietitian. She holds a European MSc in Food Science, Technology and Nutrition, during which she carried out a cross cultural adaptation of a self-screening malnutrition tool for the Portuguese speaking community-dwelling elders living in eastern and southern Massachusetts, USA.
Her interest in cross-border cooperation led her to gather international experience in institutions such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and Chafea (Executive Agency of the European Commission).
