The University of Birmingham is proud to be part of the Universitas 21 network, alongside 26 other globally renowned research intensive universities. Membership of the network brings with it opportunities for our students to travel to those partners, meet their peers and engage with international activities.
The university offers a number of bursaries and scholarships every year to our undergraduate and postgraduate students to support their travel to our prestigious U21 partners, either to attend events or to further their own research. Please read below about some of their experiences and the benefits to their personal and professional development.

Lucy Cooper (MA Heritage Management) spent the summer at the University of Melbourne after securing our U21 Museums and Collections Award.
Ana Ture (BA History) attended the Fudan University Summer School in Shanghai China after being awarded one of our U21 Summer Event bursaries
Charlotte Bendall (Law) visited McGill University and the University of British Columbia to further her research

Phyo Khaing (Medicine) attended the U21 Undergraduate Research Conference, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China
Maria Barlow (Natural Sciences) successfully applied for a bursary through our Global Challenge initiative to participate in this project, jointly funded by International Relations and the Careers Network.
