Printing, photocopying and scanning in the library

Printing and photocopying facilities are available at all of our libraries. When printing or copying books and other copyrighted material, make sure you check the guidance on copyright law.

Printing in the Main Library uses a managed print system allowing you to collect your printing from any of our MFDs (multi-functional devices):

Printing and photocopy prices for students

To print or photocopy using our MFDs you must have sufficient credit.  Printing and photocopying is charged per sheet at the following rates:

  • A4 black and white: 4p
  • A3 black and white: 8p
  • A4 colour: 20p
  • A3 colour: 40p

You can top up your printing account online using the SafeQ Dashboard (on campus only).

Visitors

Printing and photocopying isn't available for visitors. However, you can use our book scanners in the Main Library to save a scan to a USB stick.

Scanning

Our MFDs allow you to scan documents free of charge and email them to yourself.

We also have book scanners available in the Main Library which can be used to produce high quality images of books and other documents for saving to a USB stick.

Disability support

We can provide coloured paper for users with disabilities. Ask at the Help Desk in the Main Library, or at the Information Desk in site libraries.

We can also undertake copying for you at the same rates listed above if you cannot use the MFDs due to a disability.

If you require assistance using the copiers, please ask a member of staff.
