  • MBA, Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, 2012
  • MSc – Computer Integrated Manufacture (CIM), Loughborough University, 1997
  • BSc – Mechanical Engineering, University of Engineering & Technology Lahore, 1995
  • Member of The Institute of Engineering & Technology

Ahmad's life as an academic started back in 2015, after working over eighteen years in the sector of IT solutions for manufacturing. In the early part of his career, he had a steady progression from a systems analysis to a technical consultant during which he designed, developed and managed over 30 integrated IT solutions projects for lean manufacturing and warehouse management control systems within automotive, aerospace & defence, retail and high-tech sectors to solve operational and commercial issues. He implemented these solutions working with some leading brands including Colgate-Palmolive, Philips Lighting, GE Aircraft Engines, British Nuclear Fuels and others in the UK, Europe, and Canada.

In 2009, with the plan of moving more into a senior management role, Ahmad decided to join Warwick Business School (WBS) as a part-time student for an MBA. After completing his MBA in 2012, an opportunity came up, and he got involved in managing a joint venture (JV), between a Canadian technology company and a local university, in China He later resigned from his job to become an independent management consultant.

After completing the JV assignment in China, he returned to the UK in 2014. At that time, alongside his consultancy work, Ahmad thought of sharing his knowledge and experience with the students. He started delivering guest lectures to the MSc Business Consulting students at WBS and then began supervising post-graduate students in International Trade, Strategy and Operations, Engineering Business Management, and Supply Chain Logistics Management at Warwick Manufacturing Group.  In 2016, he joined University of Winchester Business School as an external staff where he designed and delivered Operations Management, Project Management, Strategy module at undergrad, postgrad and MBA level. Seems to be enjoying academic life, in 2016, Ahmad also joined Birmingham Business School as a distance learning module leader and tutor to deliver various modules to the MBA and MSc International Business Students.

An opportunity came up with University of Birmingham's international expansion to Dubai and Ahmad joined as a lecturer in 2018. At Birmingham Business School his main responsibility upon recruitment was to deliver undergrad and postgrad teaching at University of Birmingham Dubai Campus.

Ahmad passionately believes in ‘giving back and making a difference’ therefore he voluntary serves many organisations such as Grow Movement, Warwick Business School Mentoring Programme, and Education Business Partnership West Berkshire.
