Matthew Phillips – Distance Learning MA, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
Matthew is a university professor from California teaching in Korea. His research interests are looking into the ways that narrative inquiry can assist in teacher development and conceptual change. He is also interested in using critical discourse analysis, social semiotics, and cognitive linguistics frameworks in his studies.

Keith Pigott – Distance learning PhD, Global Ethics
Keith is a PhD student on the Global Ethics programme. His area of interest is the ethics of migration. He was a full-time undergraduate over thirty years ago, joining the PhD programme at Birmingham after completing part-time taught masters. He combines study with a full-time job at a large financial company located in Munich, Germany. His area of research has no connection to his professional life but is aligned to a long-standing private commitment to human rights activism.
