What were the main differences between studying in your home country of China and studying at Birmingham Law School in Dubai?Chengcheng Tang

There are many benefits to studying at the University of Birmingham in Dubai. Studying at the University of Birmingham gives you the opportunity to meet new friends and you will learn about different cultures through interactions with your classmates and teachers. That was a very good experience for me.

The second benefit is that the teaching facilities and environment are very good- and the teaching is a very high standard. The teachers are very attentive to each student’s learning status and actively help students to solve their problems. The first time I attended classes the professors helped me out a lot because this is the first time I’ve come out of China, so I’m very fortunate to have these classmates and teachers.

The third benefit is in addition to studying, students can also participate in various interesting activities. The school organised various lectures and the professors invited experts from outside the school to teach students and answer our questions.

What support did you receive from University of Birmingham in Dubai and Birmingham Law School or your future career?

To address internships and employment, the school organised a job fair to give students the chance to get in touch with companies from various industries and learn about their hiring requirements. I attended that event and I think it’s a very good event. I saw a lot of firms and there was also a law firm there that I talked to. This gave me the chance to get in touch with them.

With the help of the professors, I also got an opportunity to intern at a law firm and I had a very good experience.  During the internship I was responsible for collecting and organising the legal documents. Sometimes I also needed to compile some legal documents.
