  • Corpus Linguistics Workshop

Speaker: Dr Johan de Joode

CLiCis an innovative corpus interface that is designed for the study of literary texts. After a very brief introduction to basic corpus linguistic concepts, we will introduce some of the functionalities of CLiC (including concordances, key comparisons, intratextual comparisons). With hands-on exercises we will show how CLiC can be used to support research into literary texts. We will focus in particular on works by Charles Dickens, but also include exercises for other 19th century fiction.
