The Royal Academy of Engineering and the School of Engineering presents "Transforming Engineering Culture", a lecture presented by Dr Adrienne Houston and Dr Donka Novovic. As RAE Visiting Professors to the School, Adrienne and Donka will discuss the working culture of the engineering profession over the last 20 years. Drawing from their own experience in industry the lecture will focus on diversity and inclusion within the sector, and the speakers will reflect on changes they’ve observed during their careers.

Dr Adrienne Houston

Adrienne is Company Director at Eurovacuum Products Ltd, which specialises in vacuum and low pressure compressor systems. As a technical expert with extensive experience in the vacuum industry she oversees all company operations and leads in business development, customer relationships and driving process improvements.

As RAE Visiting Professor with a focus on equality and diversity in Engineering, Adrienne is able to draw on her experience as a business owner, and she is particularly interested in understanding the difficulties experienced by underrepresented groups in engineering, and this will be the focus of her lecture.

Dr Donka Novovic

Donka is a Rolls-Royce Plc Engineering Fellow in Manufacturing and as a senior technical leader and expert, she is leading Rolls-Royce global R&D in innovative machining technologies in collaboration with academia and industry.

In her Visiting Professor lecture, Donka will reflect on her personal experience of the rapid advancements in technology and the cultural changes within Rolls-Royce.
