International Public Management - Open to Practitioners and Policy Makers

We are offering limited free places on a three-day module on International Perspectives on Health and Local Government, which runs from Tues 29 November – Thurs 01 December 2016 at the University of Birmingham.  The module is offered as part of an MSc programme run by INLOGOV and the Health Services Management Centre.  We have a small number of free places, which we are making available to practitioners and policy makers.

This module provides a unique opportunity to work alongside students from the University of Melbourne and to take an internationally comparative perspective on health and public management. It compares key concepts in health and local government systems in the UK and Australia and offers an opportunity to analyse the governance and management of public services in the two countries and beyond, with a focus on practical application.  Sessions will cover themes including commissioning, leadership, partnerships, community involvement and workforce redesign. There will be an opportunity to acquire skills in comparative analysis, and to broaden knowledge of international issues in local government and health.
