Chaired by Rebecca Whiteley, in this reading group we’ll be engaging with Robin Bernstein’s concept of ‘scriptive things’ by reading extracts from her Racial Innocence: Performing American Childhood from Slavery to the Civil Rights (New York, 2011). We will primarily focus on Chapter 2, but we’ll also circulate the introduction for your reference.
