Philosophy, Theology and Religion in conjunction with CEPLER and the Law School welcome the IMF Special Representative to the United Nations, to the University of Birmingham.

The IMF supports global growth and financial stability. The IMF’s Managing Director has also noted that, in the discharge of its mandate, the IMF contributes directly to the necessary preconditions for the achievement of human rights. Our speaker, Robert Powell, is a senior IMF Official who currently serves as the IMF’s Special Representative to the United Nations in New York. He will outline the role of the IMF in the global economy to help students better understand one of the world’s most important financial institutions.
