Kazakhstani pianist Alim Beisembayev won first prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2021 as well as the medici.tv Audience Prize and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society Prize for a performance of a 20th/21st century work. He recently released his second album Liszt: Transcendental Études and has been described as ‘a pianist with a real future, no doubt’ in The Guardian. This performance marks the second concert in our 2023/24 series with the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme and will be recorded for broadcast at a later date.
