Celebrating 75 years of Barber Concerts

The 2020/21 concert season marks a special milestone for Barber Concerts. To celebrate 75 years, Barber Concerts is presenting a selection of memories, archival material, photographs and virtual performances for audiences to enjoy.

The Barber Concerts at 75 celebrations includes a celebratory virtual concert by University of Birmingham alumni Carolyn Sampson (BMus Music, 1995) and Joseph Middleton (BMus Music, 2002; MPhil Music, 2005), along with a podcast 'The Barber Concert Series at 75: some thoughts and reminiscences…' by Peyton and Barber Professor of Music with Andrew Kirkman, and other archival posters, programmes and playlists. Part of the celebrations also includes a project which resulted in the booklet, 'Celebrations, reflections and memories of 75 years of Barber Concerts', a culmination of an open call for memories in October 2020.
