Alexandra Stainton is conducting her PhD research in conjunction with a large, EU project which is focused upon emerging mental health difficulties. Working on this project she conducts extensive clinical interviews, neuropsychological tests, and MRI brain scans. Her work within this project will focus on resilience to mental illness, particularly in relation to neurocognitive ability.

Biography

Alexandra completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Birmingham. In her final year she transferred onto the ‘MSci Psychology & Psychological Practice’ course, allowing her to complete an additional year of master’s-level study. It was during this time she secured her PhD position which she began the following academic year.
