Biography

After completing undergraduate study at the University of Birmingham, I did my theological training at Cranmer Hall, St. John's College, Durham, completing a Masters degree in Christian Theology. I currently work as a parish priest in the Diocese of Worcester, with additional roles as an Associate Director of Ordinands and a Bishop's Adviser for Selection.

Research

My research explores the use of Selection Criteria in the discernment processes of the Church of England, with a particular focus on the role of Bishop's Advisers for Selection whose task is to assess candidates for ordained ministry. The central question of the research is to assess how Advisers discern a vocation to ordained ministry in the candidate and whether the Selection Criteria aid or hinder this process.
