MRes courses - combined taught and research masters
If you are more interested in a research degree, our Research Masters (MRes) programmes provide you with a research orientated training in the practical, theoretical and applied elements of your chosen subject.

Research is an essential component of the School's activity. We are one of the leading research departments in the country, as reflected by the 2014 Research Excellence Framework. With 90 percent of its research classified as world leading or internationally excellent our School is ranked in the top three for research in the sector.

Thanks to £16.4 million investment, we boast one of the largest custom-built sport, exercise and rehabilitation sciences facility in the UK. Furthermore, our campus-based sports facilities have undergone a major £55 million redevelopment to provide a state-of-the-art sports centre, a range of outdoor pitches and the city’s first 50-metre swimming pool.
We work closely with professional sports and practitioner bodies, and have developed unique educational partnerships with, among others, The Professional Golfers’ Association, The Football Association and the English Institute of Sport.
