Why did you choose to study your course at the University of Birmingham?
Birmingham University is highly recognized for its position within the top 100 universities in the world. Many famous and notable individuals have graduated from the University of Birmingham, further cementing its reputation for academic excellence. Additionally, some of my Italian friends have attended the Master's degree program in Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy (AMP) in the past and have confirmed the high quality of teaching and the relevance of the subjects taught.
What have been the highlights of the course?
The AMP program offers exceptional learning opportunities with highly qualified lecturers and tutors. The emphasis on peer interaction enriches the learning experience, allowing students to share insights and experiences. The level of expertise and support provided by faculty members is invaluable. Additionally, for those interested in research, the program offers ample opportunities to engage in meaningful research projects. The university's libraries and study spaces further enhance the learning environment, providing resources and spaces conducive to academic growth and exploration.
What have been the greatest challenges throughout your course so far?
My challenges throughout the course have been balancing my personal life with studies and a full-time job. Moreover, English language proficiency has been an additional hurdle, as it is not my mother tongue.
What was your research project about, and what has it involved?
My project is about the reliability of temporal summation in the healthy population, and it involves a critical review of the literature meeting the inclusion criteria defined at the start of the project.
What key aspects of your experience at the University of Birmingham would you highlight to students thinking about coming to do the same course?
I can't stress enough the incredible support I've received at every stage of my experience in the AMP program. Whether facing personal or academic challenges, the support provided has been exceptional. Tutors and lecturers have gone above and beyond, consistently checking in on me and providing invaluable feedback. They've offered additional training and even allowed us to utilize rooms before lessons to practice, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and growth.
What are your ambitions for the future? Do you have specific career plans?
In the future, I aspire to apply the knowledge and skills I've gained during the AMP course to my professional endeavors. As a team leader in a private business, I take pride in supporting my team members with the expertise I've acquired. Looking ahead, I'm keen on exploring opportunities for academic collaboration while simultaneously establishing my own clinical business. By combining practical experience with academic insights, I aim to contribute positively to both the academic and clinical realms.
