Sophie works as a Systematic Reviewer in the Biostatistics, Evidence Synthesis and Test Evaluation group, having previously held a Research Methods Fellowship in Systematic Reviews.

She recently graduated with an MPH from the University of Birmingham and has specialist knowledge in evidence synthesis and research methods. Sophie has worked on reviews of test accuracy, effectiveness and risk factors in areas such as inflammatory bowel disease, atrial fibrillation and Type 1 diabetes.

Biography

After completing a BSc in Forensic and Applied Biology, Sophie initially worked in various laboratory roles including at the Regional Genetics Laboratory at Birmingham Women’s Hospital. She joined the University of Birmingham as a Data Manager in the Primary Care Trials Unit working on multiple trials in the anticoagulant group. Sophie then obtained a funded Research Methods Fellowship in Systematic Reviews and completed a Masters in Public Health at University of Birmingham. She works in the Biostatistics, Evidence Synthesis and Test Evaluation (BESaTE) team working on various evidence synthesis projects across a range of clinical areas and question types. Sophie is also involved in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
