Biography

Dr Lucy Doos joined the Birmingham Clinical Trials Unit (BCTU) in 2022 and currently manages a number of trials in the areas of Women’s health and COPD. Prior to moving to BCTU, Lucy worked at Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit (CRCTU), University of Birmingham, managing a number of trials related to breast cancer.

Formerly Lucy worked as a Research Fellow in the University of Birmingham leading on research related to public health and health technology assessment. Lucy has extensive experiences in medical research. She is a medical doctor with a Master’s degree in Public Health and Epidemiology and a PhD degree in Health Services Management (University of Birmingham, UK).

Lucy also worked in a number of British and overseas universities. She had international experiences as a medical doctor and a researcher overseas and worked with a number of international organisations such as the WHO and UNICEF.

  • Health education and female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C): A mixed methods inquiry about prevention in Birmingham, United Kingdom (Susan Waigwa).
  • Understanding the factors that perpetuate maternal health morbidities in Sub-Saharan Africa: Applying the three phase delay model as a framework for the case of obstetric fistula in Zambia (Eniya Lufumpa).
