Biography

I have taught EAP over the last 15 years on a range of programmes at three UK universities. Prior to this, I was Director of Studies at an international boarding school, responsible for  the recruitment and training of staff, as well as the development of EAP programmes to prepare students for their university entrance. I have teacher training experience which includes working as a CELTA trainer and Local Tutor for the Distance DELTA.  Alongside my teaching duties, I have worked as an English Examiner for a number of well-known Exam Boards.  I have spent extended periods in Spain and Thailand as a teacher, as well as shorter spells in China, Argentina and Italy as an examiner.

Teaching

At the BIA my experience has included:

  • Teaching EAP on Foundation Programmes (September and January Start) at B2 and C1 level
  • Delivering workshops and lectures in EAP on In-sessional Programmes
  • Providing one-to-one language support to non-native students throughout the University
  • Working as a Course Tutor on  Pre-sessional Courses (pre-foundation, under-graduate, post-graduate and mixed) for full year, 15, 10 and 6 week courses.
