Ingmar is currently an Honorary Senior Research Fellow in Economics in the Birmingham Business School within the College of Social Sciences, United Kingdom. He was a Professor of Economics at IPAG Business School until 2023. His research mainly focuses on environmental economics, with emphasis on climate change, climate finance, migration, attitude towards nature, social and moral norms, and nudging. He is also a co-founder of the Sustainable Future Policy Lab, and he is an associate researcher at the Chair for Energy and Prosperty at Ecole Polytechnique Paris.

Biography

He holds a PhD. in Economics from the University of Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, as well as a MSc. in Economics from the London School of Economics. Prior to his position at IPAG Business School, he worked as an economist for the Central Bank of Luxembourg and held a postdoctoral position at Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as European Economic ReviewJournal of Environmental Economics and ManagementAmerican Journal of Agricultural EconomicsJournal of Economic Dynamics and Control, and Oxford Economic Papers. He is also the Managing Editor of Environmental & Resource Economics. He writes www.ingmarschumacher.com and the Sustainable Future Policy Lab. He regularly contribute to newspapers or magazines, and give public talks and courses and provide consulting or policy advice.
