Gabriela is a lecturer in the Department of Accounting, Birmingham Business School. Her research interests cover a range of management accounting topics with a particular interest in management control systems, inter-organisational relations and institutional analysis.

Biography

Gabriela joined Birmingham Business School as a Lecturer in Accounting in September 2017 having previously completed her PhD in Accounting and Finance at the same school. Her doctoral research explains the impact of institutionally complex environments on management controls deployed in inter-organisational networks. Prior to joining the Business School as a Lecturer in Accounting, she worked as a Lecturer in Accounting and Business at QA HE Business School. Gabriela also holds MSc in International Accounting and Finance from University of Birmingham. Between completing her master’s degree and beginning her doctoral research, for which she was awarded a scholarship, she gained valuable practical experience working as a semi-senior accountant in a local accounting practice.
