Julie Whiteman is a Lecturer and researcher at the University of Birmingham Business School. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Work Inclusivity Research Centre and Responsible Business Research Centre.

Julie’s research focuses on ideological consumption and social practice and she works to create an inclusive learning environment in her teaching.

Biography

Julie Whiteman is an experienced marketer whose professional experience spans private, public and third sectors. Julie worked for several years in marketing before teaching professional marketing qualifications (Chartered Institute of Marketing and Institute of Sales and Marketing Management) and undertaking her PhD at the University of Birmingham.

Julie has presented her research at international academic conferences and was a recipient of the Emerging Scholar Award at the Third International Conference on Communication and Media Studies at University of California, Berkeley. Julie’s research has been published in leading marketing journals including Journal of Advertising and Journal of Marketing Management.
