After completing her PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences at St. George’s University of London, Dr. Al-Sakini commenced specialty training in General Cardiology in the UK. She subsequently pursued subspecialty training in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Cardiology through the ACHD Pan-London Rotation, based at St. Bartholomew’s and the Royal Brompton Hospitals.

Following this, Dr. Al-Sakini completed a post-training fellowship in advanced echocardiographic imaging within ACHD Cardiology at the Royal Brompton Hospital. She then joined Southampton University Hospital as an ACHD cardiology consultant, before moving to Birmingham University Hospital in 2022. Throughout her career, Dr. Al-Sakini has maintained a strong commitment to teaching, training, and research alongside her clinical responsibilities.

She is actively engaged in supervising ongoing research projects that closely align with her clinical and academic interests in ACHD, fostering the development of new insights and advancements within the specialty.
