Biography

Dr Shamna Vaniyanveettil is a GDC-registered Dentist with Special interest in Periodontics with over eight years of experience in clinical dentistry, both in the UK and internationally. In the UK, she works across five dental practices and is passionate about delivering high-quality periodontal care with a focus on patient comfort, clear communication, and long-term oral health.

After earning her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master’s in Periodontology (MDS) in India, Dr Shamna advanced her training in the UK by obtaining the Licentiate in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and achieving Membership in Periodontics (MPerio) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh — one of the highest accolades in the field.

Her clinical expertise includes the management of gum disease, including non-surgical therapy, surgical management of gum disease, regenerative procedures, and management of peri-implant disease. She is highly trained in laser assisted gum surgery including aesthetic crown lengthening and depigmentation procedure to name a few. She is especially passionate about preventive care and helping patients preserve their natural dentition through tailored, minimally invasive treatment plans. She is known for her gentle approach, clinical precision, and dedication to patient education.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Shamna is involved in undergraduate dental education and has contributed to the training of dental students and foundation dentists. She believes in combining evidence-based treatment with compassionate care to ensure the best outcomes for her patient.  Dr Shamna is multilingual and speaks English along with Malayalam and Hindi allowing her to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys reading, travelling and having family time.
