Alia is Assistant professor in primary care pharmacy teaching primarily within applied pharmacy practice. She is lead for GP practice placements throughout the 4 years of the MPharm programme understanding the importance of experiential learning.

  • PG Cert in Independent Prescribing (Aston University 2019)
  • PG Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy with medicines management (De Montfort University 2011)
  • Masters in Pharmacy (Aston University 2007) 

Biography

Alia has comprehensive experience over a multitude of clinical sectors including community, outpatients, hospital, mental health and most recently, primary care. She made the decision to transition into an academic role to be able to utilise this experience, and her passion for education, to contribute meaningfully to the future of pharmacy. Alia continues to work one day a week in clinical practice as a pharmacist prescriber at a local GP surgery to remain active and up to date in the field.
