Biography

Alexandra is a UK-trained Physician Associate who joined the University of Birmingham Physician Associate course faculty in 2015. She works clinically as a Physician Associate in General Practice. Prior to this Alexandra worked in Cardiology at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust and in Acute Medicine at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

Alexandra is Course Director for the Physician Associate programme.

Alexandra has been involved in aiding the continued development of the PA role since she began her training in 2008, with previous roles including as a board member on the Faculty of Physician Associate at the Royal College of Physicians.

She was bestowed the award of 'PA of the Year' at the 2013 UK Association of Physician Associates (now the Faculty of Physician Associates) National Conference.

Teaching

Physician Associate Studies Diploma and MSc.

Alexandra has an interest in assessment and worked as the PA programme assessment lead for many years. Other previous roles include acute and front door medicine lead, professional support tutor and the college academic lead for student experience and engagement.
