Steven has been a nurse academic since 2011 and joined the University of Birmingham in 2021. He has extensive experience in teaching both pre and post registration Nursing across academic levels 4,5,6 and 7. Steven has a passion for ensuring that Nurses are able to competently interpret observations and apply a physiological rationale to enhance the care they give. Steven is currently the Lead for Skills and Simulation in School for Nursing and Midwifery.

Biography

Steven qualified as an RGN in 1999 and since then has worked in a variety of clinical environments such as Acute medicine, General surgery, ITU, A&E/ MAU, Coronary care and HDU. Additionally, he has also worked in Practice Development and Training as a Clinical nurse specialist in Acute Care. Steven is dual-qualified in both adult and pediatric nursing.
