Maxine is an Assistant Professor in Children’s Nursing within the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Birmingham. She has been a qualified children’s nurse since 2003. Her teaching lies in Leadership, Acute Childrens nursing and public health.

Biography

Maxine joined the University of Birmingham in 2023 as Assistant Professor in Children’s Nursing. Prior to moving into Higher Education 4 years ago, Maxine has worked within the NHS for 16 years in a variety of clinical settings including General Paediatrics, Accident and Emergency, Neonates and Cardiology.

Maxine has recently completed her Masters Degree in Education, which involved researching into the experiences of student nurses of digital learning and teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic.
