Since 2025 she occasionally serves as an external peer reviewer for the UK government.

Research

Anelia's research lies at the intersection of the Semantic Web, Privacy and Human Computer Interaction (HCI). Key topics and technologies of interest include:

  • Ontologies and knowledge graphs for Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable (FAIR) data
  • Data governance and (web) privacy
  • Automated compliance verification (e.g. with GDPR, AI Act)
  • Data decentralisation
  • Human factors in data sharing
