Dr Farrukh Hafeez is a lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the School of Engineering.

He completed his PhD in mechanical engineering at the University of Manchester and received M.Sc degree with distinction from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). Farrukh is a dedicated and driven professional with international academic as well as industrial experience. He was working for a university for a few years in Abu Dhabi before joining the University of Birmingham. Prior to moving to Abu Dhabi he worked for a global consultancy firm at their office in Manchester. Farrukh is a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers UK and a registered Chartered Engineer. Farrukh has published numerous journal and conference articles. He has a research interest in mechanics, machining and damage of composites materials.
