Biography

Matthew Angling is Professor of Space Control (Policy and Operations) at the University of Birmingham. Formerly he was a BAE Global Engineering Fellow and CTO at In-Space Missions Ltd (a BAE Systems company). He has been the Director of space weather for Spire Global; the RAEng and Dstl Professor in Space Environment and Radio Engineering at the University of Birmingham; and a QinetiQ Fellow leading space weather research.

Professor Angling is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and a visiting Professor at the Surrey Space Centre (University of Surrey). He is an experienced and effective innovation and research leader and a respected expert in the field of space weather and space systems, who possesses a wide knowledge of communications, navigation, radar and other space enabled solutions.
