I am a Senior Instructional Design Consultant at the University of Birmingham, working in the College of Social Sciences. I support all technology enhanced learning activities within the institution from our virtual learning environment, Instructure Canvas, integrations such as Panopto and Turnitin.
I spend my days working with academic staff and course teams to give guidance on the potential of the digital learning options in their courses while identifying what is possible at all levels of the organisation.
My interest in this area grew from my time at University of Leicester, where I was involved in the deployment of Blackboard at the School of Education. On leaving the University of Leicester I joined the University of Birmingham Medical school. There, I developed a keen interest in lecture capture technology for supporting staff and students, having gained experience of both Echo360 and Panopto. Other areas of knowledge include student feedback, online / offline marking, how technology can support this.
