Mo Atif is an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer training for a future career as a Surgeon-Scientist. He has a PhD in Immunology, specialising in transplant immunology, cellular therapies and multi-omics. His work focuses on developing innovative immune-modulating therapies and delivering clinical trials to improve outcomes in HPB/liver transplantation.

Biography

Mo Atif is an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer with a PhD in Immunology from the Sorbonne and an MBBS from King’s College London. His academic interests transcend both the laboratory and the operating theatre. He combines mechanistic studies in transplant immunology, design novel therapies through precision genetic engineering and aims to deliver impactful surgical clinical trials.

As a Franco-British Young Leader, he works closely with surgeons across both nations as well as the Franco-British Council to construct cross-channel partnerships, mentor future clinicians and scientists, and collaborate on innovative research programs for patient benefit.

Postgraduate supervision

Mo supervises clinical and non-clinical postgraduate and undergraduate students. He would be happy to support further doctoral fellows in:

  • Cellular therapy GMP manufacture
  • Solid organ transplantation
  • Bioinformatics and multi-omics integration
