My aim is to help students improve their German Sprachpraxis, and give them an insight into Landeskunde. I’m looking forward to passing on my enthusiasm for language learning and encouraging students to practise their skills.

  • Masters degree in German as a Foreign Language, Technische Universität Berlin
  • Magister degree in Italian Studies, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin

Always interested in languages, I obtained my first degree in Italian Studies at Berlin’s Humboldt University, before then focusing on my own language in a DaF-Masters programme. Teaching it has taken me to places like Shah Alam, Malaysia, Heidelberg, Germany, and Bucharest, Romania, and finally brought me to beautiful Birmingham, where I now hold the post of DAAD-Lektorin.

I teach Sprachpraxis and read Landeskunde to students of all years.

I’m interested in ways of integrating literary texts into language teaching, theories of language acquisition and intercultural differences.

Other activities

I organise and support events to promote interest in German culture and language outside of the classroom, a tandem exchange for students with the university of Osnabrück, visits of events related to German culture, the Stammtisch, or the annual pub quiz.

There are numerous possibilities to experience life in Germany, receive funding for research projects or simply improve one’s language skills, so if you would like to learn more about studies in Germany, scholarships or summer courses etc., please get in touch with me and I will be happy to provide more information.
