My research interests are in the area of early modern literature (1500-1800), focusing in particular on the relationship between neo-Latin and vernacular literature. My interests include the role of humanism in the reformation, humanist networks and early modern Latin and English poetry, especially poetry created in educational contexts and pastoral verse. I am currently working on the Leverhulme-funded project ‘The Correspondence of Huldrych Zwingli and Johannes Oecolampadius: Translation & Analysis’, led by Professor Nigel Harris. My background is in Classics and English and my PhD thesis (UCL, 2021) is the first complete study of the nine Latin eclogues of Giles Fletcher the Elder (c.1546-1611).
