Dr Amir Hajiyavand's research focuses on advancing intelligent robotics, automation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop innovative solutions for real-world challenges across manufacturing, healthcare, and the Circular Economy. His work combines robotics, computer vision, sensing technologies, and AI to design autonomous systems capable of operating safely, efficiently, and reliably in complex and dynamic environments. A key objective of his research is to bridge the gap between fundamental scientific advances and industrial deployment by translating emerging technologies into practical, high-impact solutions.
His research spans several interconnected themes, including robotic manipulation, industrial automation, robotic inspection, precision robotics, and AI-enabled autonomous systems. He develops intelligent robotic platforms for applications such as automated inspection and quality assurance, advanced manufacturing, high-precision micromanipulation, medical and healthcare technologies, and sustainable manufacturing. His work also explores human–robot collaboration and intelligent decision-making, enabling robotic systems to adapt to changing environments and perform increasingly complex tasks with greater autonomy.
