I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Birmingham. I work on the SoundDecisions project, which explores the connections between music, climate change and decision-making.

Biography

Dr Nguyen Van Bao is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Birmingham, where he works on the SoundDecisions project, exploring the connections between music, climate change and decision-making.

Before joining the University of Birmingham, he was a Lecturer at the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) and an Assistant Scientist in Agricultural and Environmental Economics at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). He was also a Research Fellow at Ubon Ratchathani University in Thailand under the Mekong Thought Leadership and Think Tanks Programme, and a Research Intern at the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) in Switzerland. He holds a PhD in Public Policy (Economics) and an MA in Development Policy from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management in South Korea.

His research takes an interdisciplinary approach to development. He works across three interconnected areas: (1) climate change mitigation and adaptation in agriculture; (2) poverty, inequality, and rural development; and (3) program evaluation and applied development policy.

His research has been published in journals including International Review of Economics & Finance, Politics & Policy, PoLAR: Political and Legal Anthropology Review, Journal of Economic Integration, etc.
