Emily Loy is an Assistant Professor on the CBT programmes, she is currently acting module lead on the Postgraduate Diploma in High Intensity CBT, training therapists for the NHS Talking Therapies Service. She is a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and Supervisor working three days a week for the university.

Biography

Emily Loy works as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and is an Accredited Member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP). She is an Assistant Professor in Psychology at the University of Birmingham, where she teaches and provides supervision for students on the Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. She has previously worked as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in NHS Talking Therapies for over 10 years. She also has an independent practice providing CBT, EMDR and Supervision (www.emilyloy.co.uk).

Teaching

As Assistant Professor for the Postgraduate Diploma in CBT, Emily provides Teaching sessions, Supervision and tutorials. She is currently acting lead on the CBT for Anxiety Disorders and coordinates the Key Skills and Attitudes (KSA) portfolio submissions for prospective students.

Postgraduate supervision

Emily Loy is not currently able to take on PhD or Doctoral supervision.
