Biography

Rosie has researched in the fields of music education, disability and playfulness and has taught in a range of settings. She has been involved in research projects examining the role of music within the home lives of people with intellectual disabilities, the impact of music on the play experiences of people with intellectual disabilities, and good practice in the education of deaf autistic children. Rosie is interested in the way music can be utilised to support the education, well-being and relationships of people with intellectual disabilities, and more specifically those with profound intellectual disabilities. She has a keen interest in developing and exploring participatory and inclusive approaches to research.

Rosie was awarded honorary membership of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire for her significant contributions to music, education and disability. She is a trustee of the charity Melody and Director of the inclusive music-making company, Big Top Musical Adventures CIC.
