Biography

In 2019, Emma obtained a first-class BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Warwick. Since then, Emma has completed an MA in Psychology and Education and an MA in Social Science Research, both with distinctions from the University of Warwick. Emma has also worked with neurodivergent people in a range of educational, community and research settings. Emma’s research interests include improving the quality of life and the support available for people with intellectual disabilities and their families. Emma’s PhD research focused on support for parents of adolescents with intellectual disabilities.

Emma has been involved in multiple research projects which have largely focused on the area of intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Research

Emma is currently a Research Fellow on the Digital Family Support study (DAISY). This study is investigating if an online digital family support programme called Stepping Stones Online, improves the behaviour and emotional difficulties in children (between the ages of 2 and 11 years) with a learning disability or developmental delay, and if parent carers might benefit directly from Stepping Stones Online, by boosting their wellbeing.
